Eddie's Mmmmms at the start of each verse are so inviting

This one has slowly but surely crept up to being a 5 star Pearl Jam song for me joining Dance and Quick Escape. Its freaking gorgeous!

Bold statement! I really can't wait to hear this one given the (mostly) divisive reactions

The synths in the chorus are very reminiscent of the Tea Party - Stargazer. Which is also a great song btw and highly recommended.

This has crept way up my list. Touching 4.0 and trending upward.

Posting this lyric guess again, as I've seen no one confirm or deny:

"Hangman in dreamland, (they bow) to call your name)"

I don't know tarot, but I really, really want this to be the lyric. If I'm proven wrong on Friday, I may just never acknowledge it.

They really are.

The freedom is a verb just kills me.

The Hangman is a card in the Major Arcana (the deck is mainly split into Major and Minor Arcana); it's basically a person hanging upside down from a tree, and is about taking time in meditation / isolation to see life in a new way / a "flipped" perspective

The intro (before Eddie sings) reminds me a lot of Stop Dragging my Heart Around

quickly growing as no. 1 for me.

I'm a cheeseball but man this is great cheese.

The ending....much to be done....is such a great pay off. 8-)

Seven o’clock in the morning
Got a message from afar
Down under an oasis where there are dreams still being born
And summer spoke to winter
Relaying all encouraging words
And I was fully grateful mutant messages were heard

Moved on from my despondency and left it in the bed
Do I leave it there still sleeping or maybe kill it better yet
For this is no time for depression of self-indulgent hesitance
This fucked up situation calls for all hands
Hands on deck

Freedom is as freedom does and freedom is a verb
They giveth and they taketh
And you fight to keep that what you’ve earned
We saw the destination
Got so close before it turned
Swim sideways from this undertow
And do not be deterred

Floodlight dreams go drifting past
All the lines we could’ve had
Distant loves floating above
Close these eyes
They’ve seen enough

Caught the butterfly, broke its wings
Then put it on display
Stripped of all its beauty
Once it could not fly high away
Still alive like a passerby
Overdosed on gamma rays
Another God’s creation
Destined to be thrown away

Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse
They forged the north and west
Then you’ve got Sitting Bullshit as out sitting president
Talking to his mirror
What’s he say? What’s it say back?
A tragedy of errors
Who’ll be last to have a laugh?

His best days gone
Hard to admit
Throwing angry punches with nothing to hit
Luminous thoughts were once all he had
Fading lights, lost eloquence
There’s still a fire in the engine room
Knows relief will be coming soon

What’s to be done
Carve a path for rivers reign
Much to be done
Oceans rising with the waves

So held by these thoughts
They refuse to slip away
Hangman in dreamland
About to call your name

Much to be done
Much to be done

One of Eddie's best efforts, I think. A lot of striking imagery and lines in there

Hangman in dreamland
About to call your name is a good one, too
