i don't mean to rain on anyone's parade, but man this song is such a slog to get through. it moves the needle not the slightest.

You need to learn how to feel the sound.

the Vocal melody “don’t know where or when one us left” sounds like a melody in a fleet foxes song but I can’t pinpoint it and it’s driving me nuts.

Agreed. You can’t really compare these too. And I don’t mind Come Back (live).

Yep, right here.

Come Back? Off He Goes? Those are the good, but ultimately minor leagues compared to the stunner we've got here. Those ultimately serve as a lead up to Comes Then Goes. This is that sentiment, but it's one of the big boys. This song combines multiple deeply felt sentiments that and puts into words emotions I didn't think could be captured in one single solo song.

Not only that, but he goes in a very different direction musically. Its no a drama ballad like The End or those two. Its more a road-folk song. I love that, i was expecting pure saccarine.

"you do you?" what does that mean in this context?

I'm with you. I haven't been able to get through the whole thing once since I first listened to it. This kind of stuff just does nothing for me.

Last thing I'll say for now about this song is that it is ..... essential to their entire song book. There is no other time this could have been written except when he was in older age. This is the same guy with the same lyrical skill set, but with the perspective of the pain that accompanies growing older and witnessing the decaying of beloved relationships. If we ever want to bookmark where he (and by extension - we) was at, this song provides the answers. The PJ/EV songbook would be incomplete without acknowledging this song because of how much is relates so specifically to being of this age.

Chris h ... I just. We may have similar tastes in athletic wear and beer but I think that’s where our love ends.

I don’t get it.
