This is worrisome. I hope someone corrects her and they give him another chance to explain.
Corrects what, exactly?
That the majority of us are not saying defund to mean abolish, but to mean budget cuts and reform policy.

We took our kids to a march in our town today. Way more people showed up than I thought would, was pretty fun. This picture doesn't do it justice, there was a couple thousand there (town of 30k). Everyone had masks on.

That's amazing. Hope they all wore masks.
I'd say maybe 95% of folks we saw had masks on? People were passing them out too. Maybe only one or two moments that we were less than six feet from other people, though obviously not everyone was being that careful.
Where were you in that crowd?
In the antifa section of course.

Man, this is exactly what I noticed too. I don't mind spelling/grammar errors much, I make them too, but this one should be clear if you just read it back to yourself.

Yes, correct. That's what you mean by that phrase. Now what do you think "community-based alternatives" are?

Sending out social workers or specialized officers as first responders for domestic violence calls first.

Sending out therapists or specialized officers as first responders for vagrancy and drug use calls.

Basically, developing some screwdrivers, so that the PD doesn't swing the same hammer they use for murder and assault when they have a call about less violent offenses.

Why does that just piss me off immensely??

How about doing something to enact change for a problem that you are as responsible for as any one else rather than this "look at us" bullshit.

I always forget that this breakaway message board for geezers birthed its own breakaway message board for geezers. We’re like QAnon over here.

I think showing clearly where they stand is okay thing to do. The house also just released a sweeping police reform bill.

The most important thing you can do in delivering this message is to make clear the authenticity of feeling behind it. Leave no room for cynicism. Do not treat it as a PR stunt.

Romney managed this. Warren. AOC. Why? Because they *showed up*.

This feels plasticine, by comparison. The optics of it are carefully calculated, and the personal engagement required minimal. It makes the message feel “borrowed”...for a photo shoot.
