Pence would become President and get to appoint a VP, who would have to be confirmed by the Senate.

But Trump wouldn't be sworn in. A VP can only take the place of a sitting President. And Pence hasn't been sworn in as VP yet.

The 20th Amendment spells it out. Pence is in if Trump is out.

WASHINGTON—President-elect Donald Trump, a harsh critic of U.S. intelligence agencies, is working with top advisers on a plan that would restructure and pare back the nation’s top spy agency, people familiar with the planning said, prompted by a belief that the Office of the Director of National Intelligence has become bloated and politicized.

The planning comes as Mr. Trump has leveled a series of social media attacks in recent months and the past few days against U.S. intelligence agencies, dismissing and mocking their assessment that the Russian government hacked emails of Democratic groups and individuals and then leaked them last year to WikiLeaks and others in an effort to help Mr. Trump win the White House.

One of the people familiar with Mr. Trump’s planning said advisers also are working on a plan to restructure the Central Intelligence Agency, cutting back on staffing at its Virginia headquarters and pushing more people out into field posts around the world. The CIA declined to comment on the plan.

The hilarious part of the whole thing, is that when Bernie announced his candidacy and people never gave him a chance to even make it close, the consensus argument seemed to be "well, if he pushes HRC and the DNC further left, it'll be worth it for him to run". Then he got so close that that no longer became good enough, and was worth throwing away just to punish the Democrats.

No youre right, the left should mindlessly vote for a corrupt party establishment that has little regard for their values because the other side is worse. Said the party establishment for every election in the history of humanity.

Meanwhile, the other corrupt party establishment that had little regard for their values just got smashed and taken over by their angry (and crazy) constituents. If only the Left had the spine to do the same. They might have won.

You can't blame Bernie and his supporters, before or after he was robbed. Hillary lost because of Hillary and the DNC's incompetence and corruption.

Hopefully they will learn, but it's clear from the DNC's actions they will have to learn the hard way. The Tea Party way.
