It's not when compared to the rest of the album, or even on its own merit, but i really like it as part of No Code, "artistically". In other words, I think it fits perfectly.

I love Mankind. It's great fuzz-warmed, 60's-influenced, not-too-self-serious garage pop. And both Who You Are and I'm Open have great sonic merit, lyrics aside. So I wouldn't cut a goddamn thing from that album.

You're not so bad.

To be clear, the spoken word in I'm Open doesn't bother me, but I really love he music and as wonderful as Ed's baritone is, I think an uninterrupted version with just the title words part would be what the kids call "bangin".

No Code is perfect as it is...yeah, there are really good songs from those sessions, but leave No Code alone. Its a perfect album.

So, no 5's at all, Stip?

And I'm guessing you would have Life Wasted - WWS - Comatose as all 5-5-5, right?

You're weird.

So, who's going to through and average the latest ratings for this album? It's critical that we are able to keep the RM numerical evaluations of songs as up to date as possible.

No 5s. I'm not a huge fan of how Eddie sounds on this record, which takes quite a few of these songs down a notch, and I'm generally not a fan of the lyrical turn the record took.

I would give all of those songs 5, but again I think those are 5 star songs for me, as opposed to the 5 stars I'd give Last Exit, Tremor Christ, Corduroy, Betterman, Immortality, Rearviewmirror, Do the Evolution, Elderly Woman, Black, Alive, etc. that I think are objective 5 stars.

No fucking way Lukin is better than Present Tense, or Habit is better than Mankind.

RM has spoken.

Or 11 of its members so far have.
