Brewed with some new beans today. They came with a nice story on the bag to help start the day.

I keep a variety of whole bean options in the kitchen, but I don’t often give myself enough time to brew in the morning before I have to scoot out the front door. Thus, I’m also a frequent Starbucks customer, because I like their coffee more than the gas station stuff and I get a kick out of using their app to pay at the counter like a 21st century dude. A venti Verona with cream and mocha is my favorite $3.26 of the day.

I wish my coffee shop accepted NFC payment options.

I always end up walking the cashier through how to accept Apple Pay when I go to Starbucks.

Paying with Apple Pay is convenient for me in the moment. I whip the phone out, touch activate the card and hold it over the reader. No key strokes involved. I guess the app would cost the same amount of effort overall, but short-term effort would involve me downloading the app and setting it up. Not a good use of my time.

Especially since I only go to Starbucks when I'm running late, like Kaius.

But you would eventually get a free coffee for your efforts by using the Starbucks app.

I get free coffee just by smiling sometimes.

Or when the barista fucks up. There was a stretch where the rote response to any issue at my local starbucks was to just give the customer a treat receipt. Even for something as simple as a longer than desired wait time.
