I completely understand malice's feedback. I love seeing an amazing photo that is untouched at all, and is a capture of a beautiful moment/scene. I think it takes a special skill and a tonne of intuition to be able to achieve that.

However, I love t2b's images. He has the ability to create some amazing images from great photographs, and they show us a little insight into his imagination.

Photoshop is a powerful tool, but so few people have the ability to use it right. I see so many "photographers" that only use Photoshop to turn an image b&w, and then make one item in the image coloured (I've forgotten the term for this). Each of t2b's works are so different from the other, and each one of them is sharp and vivid. So many of these would look brilliant hanging on my lounge room wall blown up on a canvas print. :D

I should add here, that I'm neither artistically skilled or educated. I'm simply a layman that has an opinion.

It's really just art and we all have a different appreciation for it. I totally see Malice's criticism and it's not the first time I have heard it. And I do really agree with her. My photos lack substance and lean too heavily into the "pop" spectrum of things. I will say, in my defense, that I pretty much throw everything up on here. I really have no filter. I'm way more selective on my photo blog.
I don't think the photos posted here lack substance. i think there's some feeling of self-doubt that takes hold in some of them at which point you alter them - actually, i'm talking out of my asshole right now - I have no clue what you're feeling... i know what my own feeling is about it, only. and that there's a point in a painting where it's best to walk away from it - less is more and all that. I assume the same is true when you take a photograph.
the picture you posted of your baby on the last page - it's excellent. no touch-up needed, and in fact, would have a negative effect on it if you began to touch it up - which I suspect you understand...

that's what I mean.

either way - I'm not disparaging the work - the retouched photos are interesting, and in some cases, stunning, but not necessarily my favorites.
