Totally agree. Add the next three songs to those and it's really great.

Not King Animal, but...

Never really got into SG but I got a ticket to Cornell's solo set in Atlanta. I'm looking forward to it more than I thought I would.

KA is a very good album when put into the 'follow up to DOTU' category. Not a fan of BATL or Halfway..which ironically are the singles that have got the heaviest airplay from the album. I was kinda hoping they would release ATDB and NonState Actor like the pre-release promos had me believe. But a very good comeback album all the same.

My least favourite song of the album ended up surprising me: "Worse Dreams." It's awful.

Really? I think its a good song, and live is better. I cant listen to Halfway there.

I think "Halfway There" is a fine acoustic alt-rock-pop song.

I can't forgive the lyrics of the WD chorus: "Like a doll... in a bad dream. / When it's gone... worse dreams are born." Ugh. Horrible lyric. Plus the fact that there's no melody in there, it just falls flat after the verses.

I have other issues on the album, but I've decided that one annoys me the most.

i keep thinking the guitars should sound heavier...thats why i like it live. And the last part is pretty good...yeah i like that song.

Maybe more than Black Saturday.

So I'm listening to one of the limited editions of this album....the one with the bonus live tracks....and some of the mixes sound different. Worse Dreams doesn't do a long fade out like the first version I had it crescendos into noise. Anyone notice this or read anything about it?

I don't really listen to this album anymore, but A Thousand Days Before still holds up as a great song.
