Man oh man, George Harrison. I don't think it's a coincidence that "Think For Yourself", "I Want to Tell You", "Love You To", "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", & "Long, Long, Long" (the best) are in the handful of my favorite songs so far.
i'm so jealous of you discovering The Beatles albums just now - have fun!

I never got too heavily into The Beatles but I've been listening to Abbey Road and I'm starting to love it. Don't ask what took me so long. I don't know. What's the next album I'm most likely to enjoy if I enjoy Abbey Road?

Well hey my favorite is The White Album but I felt Revolver was a natural progression.

You're a good kid, but you don't just ask which Beatles record you should listen to next. You should be running head-first into their catalogue until you're well familiar.

I decided to just go chronologically, see what sticks with me and listen to those for a while.

It was the same for me too. However, now that their greatness is in full visibility I can't bring myself to draw those lines anymore.

I mostly only listen to the hits prior to Hard Days Night. To me that's their first perfect album. I'd start there.

Are the vocals supposed to be so extremely panned to one side or did I get some weird stereo mix? I downloaded vinyl rips. It's kind of annoying. If not, what kind of version of the album should I look for?

At that time, in Britain, stereo mixes were usually done that way...and were not very carefully done, either. Geoff Emerick has said that, as late as Pepper's, they were putting several days worth of time and thought into the mono mixes and as little as two hours for the stereo ones (for the whole album, mind you). The white album is really the first time the stereo mixes are taken seriously.
Get the mono.

I've always enjoyed Magical Mystery Tour the most. Great follow up to Sgt Pepper.

Thanks, I'll get the mono mixes then. These stereo mixes would have driven me mad.
