Nope.

This is taken from her emotionally powerful conceptual album Coin Coin Chapter One: Gens de couleur libres centered around the life of Marie Therese Metoyer (aka Coin Coin), a freed slave from the 18th century.
Excellent. Good thing you did take this one, because it was one I was definitely considering.

I would have just quit the tournament if you picked it before me.

I'll watch the letterman performance later, but I'd be lying if I said I really didn't like this song on the record.
The studio version is SICK. It's amazing. But that live version.... she's just... I can't describe what she's doing in that performance. It's seriously one of the best single performances I've seen. Not that I've seen a lot. Just saying.

I can't figure out if Stip means what he wrote, or if he was going for "I'd be lying if I said I liked this song on the record" and got a bit tongue-tied.

I enjoyed that live version more than the studio version, but it's not one of my favourites.

I meant it. That song was a pretty big turn off for me.

Yup, thought that's what you meant - I was just confused by your phrasing. It wasn't a turn off for me, but it wasn't a particularly strong track for me either.

I knew there were other songs by her that would get me more votes or that the general RM population would like more. But I just love this song so much. Pete and I talked about it at length. And we both agreed there were a couple others that would be "better" picks. But this is a heart song for me.

Also, yeah, I pretty sure Stip was saying he doesn't like the studio version. But my reply was a reply to the post itself, not what I figured he really meant. ;)

But your post reads like you like it. That's what Norman is driving at.

This song is the closest a war song has come to feeling like actually being involved in a war. It's brutal, exhausting, and amazing. "What. Is. Next?" This MAY be my absolute favourite Waits song.

This was my second choice Joanna. Since I was the only one who drafted her in the 2000's tournament, I didn't think I had to worry about my pick going early. Now I'm not so sure.
