Both of these shows were really fucking good. Although the crowds were vastly different. The Sword show was more of a college/hipster crowd, while Behemoth was filled with actual metal kids. If I had to pick, Behemoth was better. I was impressed with the intricate power they displayed on a tiny stage.
Looking forward to Amon Amarth in November.

i saw Behemoth when they were touring for Demigod. they were on a bill with Hatebreed and Lamb of God of all bands. it was an incredible show and Behemoth were fucking great. Randy from LoG comes on stage and starts bantering with the crowd and says "give it up for Behemoth...they wore fucking armor for you" - me and my buddy still laugh about that. they get up there with armor, corpse paint and giant fans and it doesn't seem stupid at all because they are so fucking talented. watching Inferno play was unreal.
still need to see the Sword. can't believe i haven't seen those guys yet

you know what i think i only heard their first one and wasn't really blown away by it so i don't think i gave them a second chance after that. I also saw them open for Isis around then and wasn't wowed either. I probably should give them another go, yeah?

the new Boris is actually quite good. i had pretty much written them off by this point but Noise is probably the best thing they've done since Smile. definitely worth a listen. Angel and Heavy Rain are especially good....it's just too bad they sandwiched some throwaway electropop in between these two behemoths.
The new Septicflesh album is a beauty. I think they're the best metal band on the planet right now.

The seemingly gratuitous use of extreme and/or graphic "dark" metal band names continues to turn me off from a lot of music I would potentially, nay probably, enjoy.
Yeah, every genre has terrible band names, but metal bands really run the negative, sinister, gross, etc. themes into the ground.
