(such as the super-rushed and underdeveloped ending of "oh also we fixed Pepper and I got the arc reactor out of my chest")
I like it quite a bit. I like the journey and where it left Tony in terms of his character arc. It's a shame they decided to pretty much just undo it with Age of Ultron.
It's probably that I'm not much of a fan of the character Iron Man. He's OK in a team setting but by himself not so much. I've tried a dozen times to read his comics over the years and I can never last long. RDJ is awesome though and totally makes the movies watchable. They just don't set my world on fire. Forgettable rogues gallery doesn't help.
i didn't like 3 much. Seemed more interested in selling Iron Man toys making dumb jokes than being a good movie. I give it some credit for being different. Iron Man 2 is a complete rehash of the first movie, just more of it.
I'm not a big fan of this Iron Man either.

Before the first movie came out, I thought there was no way they could make him and his colorful world work, but Kenneth Branaugh nailed it. The second one suffers greatly from his absence. The story is bog standard, and it also didn't look as pretty as the first one to me.

I've come to trust these guys a lot. Here's a spoiler-free review of the movie. Just so you know, they rate movies with two choices: "Best Movie Ever" or "Worst Movie Ever."

Thor 2 is the only one I haven't seen. I have it on my computer, on disc and on my DVR. I read his comic all the time. No good excuse I just keep forgetting.

B, just use periphery and core. I'll know what you mean
the only thing that kinda bummed me out was the falcon was in the film but not in the fight scenes.. I thought for sure when war machine came out that would be the falcon shooting
I was honestly bored with large parts of this. The love story between Hulk and Widow is so pointless. And for as great as Ultron was/could have been... after seeing Iron Man vs another guy in an iron suit 50 times, and Iron Man and his army of Iron Suits vs bad guys already... Its gotten old (like 3 movies ago). Also, one of my biggest complaints with Iron Man 3, was when his house fell into the ocean, after a terrorist attack, there was NO SHIELD CLEAN UP CREW! Why is this mentioned now? because you could have easily tied it all together, by having "Shield" clean up his mess, but have it be one of the Hydra splinter factions, thus, this is how Hydra was onto the whole "ironman" suits working on A.I.
And yes, no Black Panther cameo was a lil shocking considering all the vibranium
And having Scarlet Witch use "telepathic powers" more so, over her chaos magic... I thought they wanted to use her for her cool power set? where was the chaos? where was Iron Man losing control of his suit? or Cap losing his shield? Hawkeyes arrows... see X-men Evolution for Wanda at her best

Guys, harmless is pretty pissed about one of Black Widow's lines in this movie. I haven't seen it yet, but it seems like he's getting a little bent unnecessarily. I'd like to chat with him about it. But he keeps biting some of the people who have tried to engage him. I'm not sure what to do... Should I just go a head and see the fucking movie?

Never mind, guys. He hasn't seen it either. And he's coming from a place of bias against Wheedon because of what Wheedon said about sexism in Jurassic Park: World. So, nothing to see here.
I still haven't seen Ultron though.

i just got back.
Whoever said that this is paced like a comic book is exactly right. This feels like I just read a 6 issue 'Age of Ultron story in the Avengers.
I had a really good time overall. It did drag in places. The robot army is overly familiar at this point. The sense of discovery that you had in Avengers isn't there. But I really enjoyed Ultron, Vision was cool, as was Scarlet Witch, and the final battle, while not as cool as the battle of NY, was really well done, and the 'another aerial battle' complaint misses the mark. That's not what this was, and it was set up really nicely in the film. Nothing lazy about it (well, the robot army maybe).
The emphasis on saving civilians (as a top priority for a team of superheroes) was a nice touch. Has Weedon indicated that it was a fuck you to superman?
I would have liked slower pacing for the character development moments, but on the other hand the actual fight choreography really took into account that these are people who know and work well with each other.

you should see it, Joey.
I think I'd rank it somewhere in the 3-6 range in the marvel movies. Avengers and Winter Soldier were clearly better. But it's up there with guardians, cap I and Iron Man 3.
