would you prefer Kenny Britt?
I am comfortable w/ the offense being exactly what it was last year. maybe a few more games from gronk (in January that is), would help things.
The D signings are looking good, and if Wilfork and his agent don't understand that Vince is worth only slightly more than Raji money, then they should be allowed to find work elsewhere. I'm all for a player fighting for the money that the team agreed to pay them when said player signed, but hasn't the conversation always been about restructuring? You're still getting paid Vince.
Could Pat Sims, Henry Melton, or Kevin Williams fill Vince's spot? Also, would Mt. Cody be worth a flyer?

and here I thought Asante's "get paid" was facepalm-worthy. come to think of it, he's a free agent, let's sign him too.

LaFell instantly becomes better because he never caught passes from Tom Brady. Same goes had he signed with Denver.

so does the same logic apply to Boyce and Amendola?
boom roasted.

Lafell never became a complete receiver but he is very decent in the short route tree that NE loves, and that's probably all they'll ask him to do.
I expect NE to load up on run defenders in the draft because with Revis/Browner, no Spikes and no Wilfork, everyone is going to try to pound the ball and win that way. They're run defense is pretty shit without those two. Of course scoring 30+ like they're used to makes that much more difficult, but still.

I stand by that general logic - whereby pairing a receiver with a better quarterback typically boosts that receiver's results. Go ask Eric Decker. He can thank Manning for that contract.

that works for me... but I'm not so sure Wilfork is completely out the door yet.

10 days later and I'm certain he's not out the door!
The Pats now have the same Offense returning (plus God's Gift at WR and maybe more games from Gronk). And the Defense from last year has added Revis & Browner whilst losing Gregory, Spikes & Talib. I'm optimistic all of these moves are a positive thing for this team. I'm so into a 3-4 base of:
Jamie Collins-Donte Hightower-Jerod Mayo-Rob Ninkovich
------Chandler Jones-Vince Wilfork-Tommy Kelly-------
with a secondary of Revis-Harmon-McCourty-Ryan (and Dennard, Browner, and Arrington subbing in as LBs come off the field)

I'm waiting for Belichick to say that "the linebacker" deliberately tried to take out one of his players.

Well, it's Friday night. Pats-Eagles. And it sounds like we'll even get to see Revis and Brady on the field. No complaints here.

Ha, Belichick got flagged on a play where his team drew a big PI call in his favor. The only thing I can think of is that he was arguing that it should have been ruled a catch...which would have added a couple of yards.

I like how he tried to take the ball away from Develin to create the impression that he didn't fumble.

Ha...It's too bad; he's a good runner. Bill couldn't wait to give White more carries and then Ridley goes and proves him right.

I feel like the Patriots got quite a bit younger with the following 4 roster spots.
subtract: Mankins, Will Smith, Tommy Kelly, and Mallet
add: Kline, Moore, Easley, Garappolo
Shame about Armstead, I was hoping this kid had something to offer.

I'm impressed with Lafell.

I still think the Patriots made the right move to trade Mankins but the Dolphins are making it look like a bad move today.
