I think Trouble Will Find Me is considerably weaker than the 3 albums that precede it.

any of you national fans ever get into the constantines? maybe it's because i discovered them around the same time, but i've always thought of constantines as a less fussy, more "live" sounding national with a way better singer. tournament of hearts and kensington heights are A+. they do a nice cover of fuckin up, too.

Concert just posted in full today. Sounds great. Looks great. If anyone rips it (or knows how) please share. Thanks.

It had to grow on me too (as did most National albums), but I soon loved it entirely. Humiliation might be my favorite National song. Demons, Don't Swallow the Cap, I Need My Girl, Graceless, Pink Rabbits, I Should Live In Salt, Heavenfaced, Slipped... They're all awesome songs. Really, the whole album is wonderful.

Interesting, I like the whole thing and it has grown on me, but none of the songs come close to their best output from the previous 3 for me.

I've been listening to Sad Songs. This album feels criminally underrated. I love so many songs here, but these five are really wonderful. I may have to think about re-ranking these albums.

Patterns of Fairytales
Lucky You

Thirsty
Slipping Husband
All The Wine

Sunshine on my Back has been really getting to me lately. The quick violin in the chorus, and the gutpunch of a bridge...
She says "After today then there's nothing you owe me"
And I'm so glad that you came, I needed someone who loves me
But just don't try to talk yourself into this love
And sleep like a baby while I'm staying up
It's as much what you say, as it is what you don't
You can't try to stay you either will or you won't
I think the term 'grower' gets used very liberally with this band; they have a lot of immediate stuff, IMO. But this song took a long time for me.

They need to release a new album. Going on 4(!) years already. Too long.

Every time this thread gets bumped I'm expecting to see an album announcement.
