Spoiler: show
I didn't have a problem with him snapping Zod's neck, but I think I agree with what the reviewer that was quoted a few posts up in feeling that it would have mattered more if all the destruction that happened in the previous hour's fight wasn't at the cost of so many lives already.
I see that they're trying to do something different with Supes here, and I think that more often than not it works. I hope they get a chance to explore the character and this universe more, though I have a feeling it's going to suffer from Terminator 4 syndrome, where the movie was lambasted but at the same time I didn't think it was that bad.

I thought it was pretty hilarious to even have a restaurant that wasn't really just a gas station, in a Plains states town that size. When we go visit my wife's family, we have to eat at the B&T Diner and Tire Emporium.

Which has delicious biscuits and gravy.

Because of course it does.

i think the important thing to remember is he isnt superman during all that. what i mean is we see throughout the whole movie him evolving to that character. perhaps this is what causes him to take the no kill stand and there always has to be another way. maybe this is what shows him just how powerful he can be and the destruction he can cause.

overall its not on par with the nolan/batman movies or even X2 or the ironman 1 & II but it was still very enjoyable

I kinda like that thought, it may not be what they were thinking, but i kinda hope it turns out to be that moment that makes him the superman we all know and love

I agree with some people that the level of destruction is too much for this movie, but I do love that the hits in this movie have real impact. For the first time I felt like Superman is really super and mere mortals should stay out of the way. Every punch and landing has incredible force behind it, lots of attention to little details. Most movies these days seem to cheat on the action, and just shake the camera a lot.

I liked that aspect, too. It was interesting to me. It just undercut that twist to have it be made so clear to us that adult Superman couldn't care less about it.

Having earthdad deliver all this talk about how whatever he decides to be is going to change the world, and having skydad tell him that he can show humanity the way forward, is really weird stuff to juxtapose with a shot of him standing in the center of a mass of unquestionable human suffering and making out with a reporter.

He kills, he isn't bothered by the deaths his actions contributed to, and he even has someone who knows who he is and accepts him completely. It's like they took every internal drama that had the potential to make Superman a fascinating character and went out of their way to hit 'delete.'

he could have just flown to Antarctica and fought him there.

I think the line about "they are planning a grand entrance" was equally stupid. How did he know?

He probably watched Independence Day a lot while filming The Lost World.

Easter Eggs from the movie

I didnt catch a lot of these

LuthorCorp and Wayne Enterprise logos

Luthor on the tanker at the end
Wayne on the smashed satalite

hint at another kryptonian who escaped the pods (one was open and empty when clark is exploring)

S.T.A.R.R Labs was mentioned and the scientist mentioned helped create Cyborg

The second in command Military chick (hes kinda hot) is carol ferris (who also appeared in Green Lantern)

Blaze Comics logo is shown. this comic book company produces the comic, booster gold, for the hero Booster Gold who is a hero more for the money than sake of being a hero

emil from smallville plays a part in the movie

Sullivan from smallville is also mentioned though not chloe by name

Guardian is Meloni's call sign. guardian is a hero that helps S.T.A.R.R. Labs from time to time

That kryptonian who escaped the pods is supposed to be Supergirl I think.

and the wording under the Sears sign? "Smallville, Kansas"

my question, how can Superman have nicotine stains on his bottom teeth?

There's a Superman III joke in there, right?

I'm guessing this is gonna see a pretty epic drop at the box office with "Monsters University" and "World War Z" opening this weekend.

With all the marketing behind it, I doubt WWZ will flat-out bomb. It'll be battling MOS for the No. 2 spot.
