I find it hard to believe there are enough newer developments to make this compelling beyond 2 or 3 hours.

I tend to agree with you. Unless they're planning to go back and dive into some of the nuance and detail left out of the original case/series.

But the first time around was so good that I can't imagine sitting this out, regardless. Pretty excited.

This is a money grab. I'll still watch but the lack of content stretched over 10 episodes will make it a slog.
