Probably not worse than that Beatles or Stones. Certainly not worse than Zeppelin.swan wrote:Not to be disrespectful, but I'm curious about the whole underage girl stories with him. Haven't ever heard much about it, but it seems a lot of people have. I know it was pretty common in the 70's with artists/musicians. Hopefully nothing on Polanski levels with Bowie?
I was really hoping you'd post an unknown Offspring cover of Fashion.theplatypus wrote:Here's a thing to ruin your day.

It's a pretty weird aspect of the 60s and early 70's, generally ignored because it ruins some of the fun.
Uh, thanks man. But shouldn't we get to know each other first?VinylGuy wrote:I love Lazarus.
There was a lot of talk about this last year when Jackie Fox from the Runaways came out with her rape experience.McParadigm wrote:Probably not worse than that Beatles or Stones. It's not just them but pretty much everybody up to that period has wacky stories attached to their names. On one hand certain things that were kind of acceptable in the past. I think the late 60's trough the 70's period with everything that was going on, not limited to the amount of drugs in those circles, just escalated the crazy and it's the last decade when this behaviour was still common if not somewhat acceptable.swan wrote:McParadigm wrote:Probably not worse than that Beatles or Stones. Yeah, it's weird territory to get in to. I can get pretty conflicted about some of these people at times.
I think applying today's morals to yesteryear is wrong. Different times and different morals. I don't understand it but realize within the context of the times it was acceptable behaviour.Mine wrote:It's not just them but pretty much everybody up to that period has wacky stories attached to their names. Yeah, man, that whole thing was so messed up.Mine wrote:Some really fucked up stuff came out with that story.durdencommatyler wrote:Just ask Joan Jett.cutuphalfdead wrote:Yeah guys, rape was ok in the 60s.
The point isn't what was right or wasn't but that most of the people would probably admit that what they used to do at the time wasn't ok.
