The Metro PD deserves some credit for not shooting at everyone who vaguely looked like the suspect(s) as the LAPD did in the Dorner case. As we learned from that, their policies and training would have justified their use of lethal force whenever anyone vaguely matching the description of a cop killer is spotted. Despite the fact that the suspects were most likely dead upon arrival of the SWAT team, I must commend them on their discretion.

These two stories make me sad for my country and our society of firearms. When will we change our culture so that these things don't happen? Both of these are recent gun attacks following road rage incidents. Both are in my relatively small to medium size town of Louisville, KY. These are the types of gun related incidents that our gun culture creates.

I was at a Safeway in Virginia today and... they had 9 different magazines about guns.

The only people to feel sorry for in that story are the 9-year old and Bruce Willis, who I assume is currently missing an uzi.

I saw Ted Nugent in concert some years ago (it was free and the place was still half empty)

He shot a flaming arrow at the American flag (which also had a logo on it for his website) It didn't strike me as a very patriotic gesture.

Is it wrong that I find that story kind of funny? I actually laughed when I heard it on the radio this morning and everytime I think about it I snigger.
