Does anyone know the rule about helmets?

There are only a few guys left (Tom Brady, Antonio Brown, Pacman Jones, etc.) who wear the old style of helmet. I always thought Brady's was grandfathered in since he has been in the league so long, but Brown is relatively new (2010).

99% of players have a newer version of some kind. If a Rookie this year wanted the old style, would that be allowed?
