I still want to have one single tangible reason why Mitchell Trubisky should be a higher pick than Deshaun Watson.

They are the same height, weight, handsize for the most part, I have no idea of the Wonderlic score.

They play in essentially the same kind of college offense, Watson is the greatest high school QB in the history of Georgia High School Sports ( his passing records are not even close) and he won a national title at a school that hadn't done it in 30 years outplaying the best defense in college 2 years in a row.

Trubisky played 12 games in college.

I guess the same people last year thought Jared Goff was some wunderkind and light years better than Wentz too.

Rumors now are that Jacksonville really likes Watson. That could be a decent fit for him.

Could be, I think Arizona or KC or Houston aren't bad landing spots either, I just can't think of a player I've watched as much as Watson that got less coverage, he was written off in January in favor of Trubisky and I just don't understand why.

It is baffling, for sure. I didn't even know who Trubisky was until January.

The last I heard of it was Watson "Skipping" the senior bowl.

No elite prospects tend to ever play in the senior bowl and the new trend is skipping all private workouts and even bowl games (McCaffery) because of the risk of injury.

The tape is in the can. His arm isn't as strong and he isn't as tall, but I think Watson is a more proficient QB than Winston was coming out of college (he's a lot better than Cam throwing the ball though obviously not as physical) and Winston had a pretty good first year.

I don't see what the problem is with NFL coordinators not wanting to use the no huddle more.

What's really odd, is that has come out in the last couple of days that some NFL orgs are holding it against Jabrill Peppers for sitting out the UM Bowl game because it showed a lack of commitment to his team.

He Hurt his hamstring the day before the game. He planned on playing on got hurt. But Fournette and McCaffery are both projecting to be top 10.

I agree, I think Watson should be taken over Trubisky as well. New Orleans would be a very good fit for Watson, they need to think about life after Brees.

I just spoke with a Saints fan who wants that outcome at 12.

It doesn't make a lot of sense. Peppers is one of the best athletes in the draft even if the diluted sample did indicate he had a drug issue at his position it shouldn't demote him much. He'll be a defensive playmaker somewhere, at some position and he'll provide field position on punts as early as next year.

The other thing, Dalvin Cook is being severely underrated. I'm really wondering if a lot of the press members that have opinions have even watched any college football.

A lot of teams would probably like to have Tyrann Mathew now and he had far more than a diluted sample.

They can't make an example out of McCaffrey and Fournette because they're too good, so they have to find someone to take their displeasure out on.

"Student/ATH A Lete"

sort of fascinating that colleges can grind out a guy into nothing or in the case of Tyrone Prothro (Marcus Lattimore et al) he literally lost his professional career playing at the end of a game they were easily going to win and that's all happy and great, but start treating yourself as if you yourself are a business.... oh that's horrible.

Only the college presidents/coaches are allowed to do that.

Michigan was still going to Italy whether or not the won another meaningless bowl game.

You can't be sad about this, though, no? I'll watch just in case there's some kind of trade....

This will be the first year in a while that I don't watch night one. I'm kinda bummed about it. But I've got a fun night ahead so it's not that big of a deal. I'll just read up about it on the internet tomorrow.

Good luck to all your teams, friends! I hope each and every one of your chosen squads gets better tonight.

Not sad, but night 1 is fun if your team is involved. I usually take the Friday after off because, you know, picking late and stuff. And beer.

When the moved the draft a week later it interferes with a charity auction I've been involved in for quite some time, and as such I don't get to watch Day 2 live anymore. :(
