What a game! That entire series was unbelievable. I know it's a bit sad and says a lot about the last two decades of baseball in Toronto, but that may have been the most nerve-racking, exciting, intense series of baseball I've watch in 20 years.

Also: Melky Cabrera went 3 for 5 with 5 walks, which I believe is the first time a batter reached base 8 times in a game since 1972.

Cabrera and Bautista were both intentionally walked twice.

Very good year for Melky. Playing himself into a good long term deal somewhere. I could see my Rangers offering him a 3-4 year deal. He is just turning 30 tomorrow.

I don't think the Braves would get nearly enough in return if they traded Hayward. A huge portion of his value is in his defense, and that still tends to be underrated.

Peraza looks pretty athletic. I wonder if they will move him to the OF and try him at leadoff sometime next year.

Thing about Heyward is he's still young and I think if you put him in a better hitters park he can be a 30 homer a year guy.

Agreed though that his D is his best attribute. Fantastic right fielder.

Except for his rookie year in which he hi 258, Ozzie Smith didn't crack 250 until his 7th year in the majors. He didn't touch .280 until his 8th year. Bats can come around later, and Igeslias's defense was that good.

You know as well as I do he was doing it with smoke and mirrors, you were watching the same games. The guy had so many weird bloopy infield hits in the first half. I'm not saying Iglesias isnt an amazing shortstop, and that I wouldnt want him on the team now. I was willing to make that sacrifice to get a 3rd starter in here and go for that World Series. Just like I would be willing to trade Bradley this year for someone like Peavy if they were in the same spot.
