I'm pretty sure he just dropped off Sansa at Winterfell, told her to be good, and got the fuck out of there. But I forget a lot of the show changes from season 5 so I may be wrong.

That's basically my memory as well. But I couldn't remember if he'd given us a hint about where he was headed or not. Did he imply (or say) that he was going to find Dany?

Slinking out of Winterfell, pretty sure he was on his way to answer a summons from Cersei. I don't remember 100% of what Cersei knows, though--I'm sure she doesn't know about his involvement in Ramsay and Sansa's marriage, she doesn't know about his involvement in Joffrey's death, but she might have known that he's the new protector of the Vale. Maybe.

The chapters at the end of ADWD, picking up where the two books meet chronologically, are among the best in the series.

The Cersei chapters in AFFC were the ones I enjoyed the least, and having them more spread out among the chapters of both books made them a lot better.
