Right on. A teaser is a tiny taste of a movie, that's all. It's not designed to give much or any details about a storyline, it's real purpose is to trigger the imagination and create speculation. This trailer does exactly that.

We don't claim to know anything about the movie, some of us just really like it. I know some people don't like it too, I respect and understand that.

Chud I'm sure it's just the weed talking, but either way please just let us be and stop being an ass - we don't need to justify our love of this thing to you, friend.

the twist ending is that the real cinematic experience lies within each of us, and that our anticipation, combined with the first and second acts of the movie, together comprise the totality of importance. the third act exists solely to compel the viewer to look inward to assess his or her expectations. pretty neat, huh?

When the first, teasing trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens arrived online last week, the web lit up with speculation as to who was intoning about an awakening and the sides of the force. Many thought it might be Benedict Cumberbatch, but more recent chatter has pointed to Andy Serkis, who has the advantage of actually being listed among the movie’s official cast. Now Serkis has gone on the record with our colleagues over at Absolute Radio to confirm that it is indeed his voice.


“I’m sure Benedict doesn’t need any more attention at the moment,” he laughs when told of the rampant Cumberchat. Oh, and he can’t say who (or what) he’s playing in the film because that would obviously not end well for him.

In case you have forgotten, Star Wars: The Force Awakens represents J.J. Abrams and his team shouldering the mantle of bringing the big screen adventures in that galaxy far, far away back to life featuring a cast that includes Serkis, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, Lupita Nyong'o, Gwendoline Christie and Max Von Sydow plus original trilogy veterans Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Peter Mayhew, Warwick Davis, Anthony Daniels and Kenny Baker.

My nephew was terrified of the stormtrooper popping up at the beginning of the teaser. But he thought the droid on the soccer ball was cute.
