For a movie that seems so ambitious, I wish it had actually been a little ambitious. I found it compelling for a while but then I kind of just found it tedious and eventually obnoxiously tedious. It was weird but didn't do anything with the weirdness. It did so little with the weirdness that at a certain point it stopped being weird and was just boring

I'm waiting to watch this one white-whale Spanish movie I missed at the film festival and then I'll finally put together a ranked list, but Annette is certainly up there

I don't get it at all. Like, what was great about it? The song where the police say "we are the police" or the song where the piano player says "I am the accompanist"?

That's basically how I felt, but I didn't finish it.

I enjoyed The Tragedy of Macbeth. Beautiful to look at. Worth it for the visuals alone.
Denzel killed it. The three witches were the best.
