Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. Nevermind I just figured it out--Joe has recently convinced himself that we have diametrically opposed tastes, despite a wealth of evidence to the contrary. He loves Rear Window, so he thinks I should hate it, but with the caveat that our tastes are more aligned the further you recede into the past.

Anyway it looks like a ton of Hitchcocks are leaving Criterion next Monday. I've shamefully never spent any serious time with him so I'm going to try to blow through the hits in the next week.

I don't imagine our tastes are more aligned the further you recede into the past. You just seem to like old movies and cut them a lot of slack.
