The Tragedy of Macbeth is very good, but I'll tell you what: It ain't gonna be winning any awards for Best Original Screenplay!

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I'm really not following here: you're surprised I think Rear Window, a near-universally acclaimed movie, is "so good," but then you're less surprised because it's an older movie?

Nevermind I just figured it out--Joe has recently convinced himself that we have diametrically opposed tastes, despite a wealth of evidence to the contrary. He loves Rear Window, so he thinks I should hate it, but with the caveat that our tastes are more aligned the further you recede into the past.

Re: What movies are you watching?
Anyway it looks like a ton of Hitchcocks are leaving Criterion next Monday. I've shamefully never spent any serious time with him so I'm going to try to blow through the hits in the next week.

Though, there are plenty I haven't seen so that's a hollow claim.

I don't imagine our tastes are more aligned the further you recede into the past. You just seem to like old movies and cut them a lot of slack.Mickey wrote:What am I missing??epilogue wrote:yeah, close enoughMickey wrote:Nevermind I just figured it out--Joe has recently convinced himself that we have diametrically opposed tastes, despite a wealth of evidence to the contrary.
