I prefer track two - Reckless - to all of the singles.

Tracks 3-5 are just like you remember them.

Violent Times is smooth. The horns give it a good lift.

Next track was saved by the chorus and outro. Pretty sleepy/sparse otherwise.

Sweetest Fruit sounds unlike 99% of Annie's work.

OK, things are getting wiggy in the second half. So Many Planets is wonderful.

The final track reminds me of everything I love about Talking Heads.

Overall it's a nice return for St Vincent. Hell Is Near, Reckless and All Born Screaming were my highlights on first listen. Keen to get a clearer sense of where some of the guest musicians fit in.

After 3 spins... I'm in love all over again.
This is definitely sharing the top rotation spot with Dark Matter. What a combo!
I'd use "Violent Times" as the next 007 song and title.
The whole thing flows unexpectedly great, lots of of curveballs.
I think side B is the "you've heard the bangers, now let's get weird" side and it leaves you wanting more.

Im loving it yeah. Its sexy, almost a song for a sountrack of a very cool noir movie. And while it feels new and fresh its also very classic for Annie.

I was really looking forward to this record and thought it was going to be industrial tinged and messy… but I’m thinking Daddy’s Home is a better record. Reckless and the titles track do not go anywhere and then tack on the gear shifts that also go no where. On Other Planets and the cod reggae just seems thin on ideas. The singles were so great, I think the rest of the album doesn’t live up to it besides to Hell is Near which is good too

It’s too early for me to really know were this one stands but I do believe it has a lot of elements I really wanted on a St Vincent album, which is really awesome.

This album works all the way through for me. I think it's a stunning piece.
