I used to love The Endless Summer movies - the 2nd one has dated a lot worse than the first I think

Lincoln. It was different than I expected. It focused on the 13th Ammendment and I assumed it would focus on a longer duration of his presidency.

Yeah I was expecting something more realistic. The first five minutes cured me of that notion.

There was a surf movie called North Shore that I loved as I kid. I probably watched it 30 times. No idea how it's aged or if it was crap even back then but I dug it.

Never heard of this one - might have to see if I can dig it out. The only issue I have watching these films is it just makes me get frustrated that I don't get the chance to head out for a surf much these days

Too bad, Kevin Hart is a pretty good comic.

North shore is my favorite surfing movie that I've seen, though chasing Mavericks is close, but i think north shore is my favorite because i watched it so much growing up, its basicly the surfing version of rad so its very dated and corney but i love it.

That's got to be one of the most pretentious movies I've ever seen. I don't know how I managed to watch the whole thing.

I saw The Machinist yesterday. Good stuff.

Miyazaki-fest at my house this past weekend in anticipation of The Wind Rises. Howl's Moving Castle, Ponyo, Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away. Think the kids' favorite was Ponyo. Looking forward to My Neighbor Totoro tonight. Haven't seen it in many years.

Had a few free hours at work, so I bought a ticket online for Saving Mr. Banks. Somehow ended up buying a ticket for tomorrow by mistake.

I only found out when I was already at the movie theater. By that point I figured I was already there, so decided to buy a ticket for whatever was playing at that time. Robocop. Feh.

Doubt was incredible in every way. Worst of all was that you were left wit many of your own. Good job Hoffman.

Walter Mitty was visually impressive but had less understanding of pace than any film I've ever seen. Coupled with poor casting it was doomed. Don't bother with this one.

You didn't like Walter Mitty? I didn't like the first act, but then I thought it came into its own quite well and enjoyed the latter part of the film

Rush

- Good popcorn car racing flick set in the 1970s. Daniel Bruhl did a really outstanding job playing Austrian racer Niki Lauda.
