Can Neil have lunch with George RR Martin like twice so he can explain how to build a calendar with him?

We are busy right now folks, with lots going on. Daryl and I have just finished her new film, COASTAL, which will premiere at the WOODSTOCK FILM FESTIVAL. I love this film about life and music on the road.. It features exactly that- real life on the road in our bus, onstage, backstage….a documentary full of the soul and art I love In Daryl. Something not to miss. Coming this fall to theaters for a night and our life forever.Niko Bolas and I are deep into Volume 4, currently working on Sleeps with Angels. The music is coming along beautifully! What an era! We are about to enter the art phase, collecting photos and other art for the fourth NYA volume.John Hanlon and I are in the middle of the vinyl ORS 6 (original release series 6) and the 50th anniversary vinyl versions of Tonight’s the Night and Zuma, finding out-takes to be included, preparing the vinyl sides for mastering.I am working with Jenice Heo on my lyric book, about 650 or so songs, writing my personal comments on each song as we go through, currently in the post-Harvest period. This is gigantic, a lot of fun and writing, remembering these times as a late 70’s flower child. Like I’m 78 going on 79 and these songs are 50 years ago or so. Quite an experience! My first Sci-fi novel - Canary, is with me now and in its final go through before circulation to a few chosen publishers, who will soon be reading the first 100+ pages of this 350 page writing, I started in 2016 or so. That will be so exciting to me! My first novel! I’m very happy to be into this with Jason Kaufman who is doing the last line edit with me. My dad wrote a lot of novels. He would be proud of this.Archivist John O'Neill and I are going through the filing cabinet, sorting out some bugs and simplifying the experience a little…. not too much…because it is, after all - NYA!I recently wrote a new song - ‘SILVER EAGLE’.Zeke Young and I are organizing the SOUNDTRACK series, curating vinyl records of the music for about 8-10 films. Berlin, Heart of Gold, GREENDALE Acoustic solo Vicar street and more…..At the same time we are dealing with getting the files for Volume 3 available to all NYA users in the file cabinet. In addition to this we are dealing with problems encountered when getting files of Volume three from the Hi res store to listeners. We are making good progress! We did have some unforeseen complications.Overseeing all of this and keeping me informed on progress is Phil Baker, while Frank Gironda and Bonnie Levitin keep me up to date on happenings at Lookout Management. My best to you all! love Neil

The 1982 “Silver and Gold” and the 1984 “Razor Love” are wild. S&G was a foundational Neil album for me, one of the albums that really cemented him as a special artist in my life, so hearing these tunes with such a radically different sense of time and place is super weird and kind of overwhelming. What an insane body of work Neil has.

Maybe nothing new here but I had never heard the bit about Neil having PJ learn Act of Love back stage at a show for an encore being what eventually led to Mirrorball.

I do too.

In the wake of Lynch’s death, it just makes me think there’s nobody who can make this kind of song quite like Neil and I’ll sure miss him when he’s no longer doing it.
