I think in general, even when the Snowden news broke, the American public's interest in these kind of stories have been far lower than the attention they deserve.

It's hard to be shocked by anything anymore, but it's still a pretty big deal when the CIA is doing whatever it wants, especially when they are targeting Americans and American companies.

The only thing I was initially shocked by was that the CIA had broken some of the most popular encryption apps, but from what I'm reading that turned out to be a wrong statement on the part of WikiLeaks.

I think there will always be (mostly) apathy if the "general population" feels helpless to do anything about "it".

Most of them are known I suppose, but they certainly weren't waiting nearly a day after other outlets report it to bring it up, and when they do, largely ignoring the content.

But for some reason Trump's retarded wiretap tweet gets the lion's share of space, days after he made it. Even the new healthcare bill gets knocked down the list.

Ok, I've been away from my computer a lot today, so I ask this sincerely: was there something among those leaks that showed that the CIA was targeting Americans or American companies here without a warrant?
