We've been tight for 18 years, but two RM related queries is quite enough

Phones always sound the best though. I just don't get the bitterness. To me they've never sounded so clear, powerful, and punchy. Loud is good. This is a rock band.......
Maybe just a matter of life experiences bringing different shades of understanding; aspects that others may not have exposure to?
No wonder things are so divided in the world.
This is a tiny speck of an issue in the grand scheme of things and look at what it stirs in people.
When I hear you say loud = good RAWK, I understand that you do not know why it may bother some and you do not care, and for me, that is OK.
You are free to do you.
Why is it not OK for others to express displeasure with an aspect of the song, especially when it is clear that you may not understand why someone may be bothered?
It sounds fine to you, that is your experience.
Perhaps it is OK for you to enjoy the song without having to be proven "correct"?
Lol ok yeah this is just way too serious to address.
Nobody is “correct” or not. This is art. Crack a beer and enjoy the tunes man. I’m only saying I don’t understand the displeasure that some have alluded to.

Thank you for the art comment. I don't like it when people mistake their opinions for facts and shit all over those who don't share them. I'm glad there are people here who listen to Pearl Jam's music critically. I do that myself, of a fashion. I'm also extremely glad that there's new music and that it's classic Pearl Jam, in my humble opinion.DDWJMUVW wrote:Lol ok yeah this is just way too serious to address.

And yet...DDWJMUVW wrote: Lol ok yeah this is just way too serious to address.
Look, I just happened to respond to your post, but, it's really a reaction to the "I don't hear it, so why are we still talking about this?" crowd. Just because people don't have experience in what to listen for doesn't mean it's not a vital aspect of the end result.DDWJMUVW wrote: Nobody is “correct” or not. This is art. I know people that listen to albums and couldn't care less about lyrics. I'm not one of 'em, but, people on here write novellas interpreting lyrics...To me, the production is all part and parcel of the same thing.
I've been around bands since high school and have friends who are producers and engineers, and who routinely release records, working with people we would all know. I don't get to meet many of them or see my out of state friends all that often, sadly, but, we talk about production elements for albums via chat and on the phone all of the time...A little of that type of dialogue bled in here for a bit ...so what?
Not hurting anyone...Killing time before a band we all love puts out a new gem...We're all just learning from each other, after all.
We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…
