Even if he does I would highly doubt he could be the player they need for a playoff run. I seem to remember Westbrook looking terrible when he went through this whole deal.

Even if he doesn't return for the playoffs a shorter recovery time would help for his psyche, conditioning, and overall long term abilities. I'm just bummed. Nagging injuries to incredible athletes just suck.

This is probably the end for the Spurs. Parker's seen a major decline. The defensive energy is all but gone this year. I read a stat recently that everyone but Duncan and Splitter is shooting a worse percentage than last year. Some fans seem to think that they are just laying in wait and will go on a run toward the end of the year and in the playoffs, but that's not happening. I don't see them getting out of the first round at this point. They still look pretty satisfied and even Pop seems to be different and less intense this year. I think the whole organization is gonna kinda coast at this point and figure out what they are gonna do for the future.

And, honestly, Leonard is not as good as everybody made him out to be. He's a great defender, who should average 16 points with 8 rebounds. I mean, I love him because of his defense, but he's not gonna take this dramatic leap forward that everyone seems to think he will. He not a franchise-defining player.

I could see them climbing to the 6th spot if they win something like 16 out of 20. Dallas isn't exactly lighting the world on fire.

Completely agree about Leonard. He's a third guy type player in my eyes. He's very good but he is not what a lot of people were saying. I think Kevin Durant had it right when he called Leonard a system player. He benefited from that system and looked tremendous in the finals but he was supposed to carry the Spurs this year and he's just not capable. The system isn't helping now that the group isn't playing well. Granted he has had a couple injuries but the Spurs are not gonna contend for a title if Leonard is their number one guy. I have a feeling Timmy will retire after this year. That is gonna feel weird knowing the Spurs don't have Tim Duncan.

Leonard is a classic number 2 or 3. I don't think we can judge him too harshly for this season since he missed most of camp and has been in and out of the lineups not to mention the other injuries the starting lineup has had.

You win championships with guys like leonard. Whats plan B if you dont wanna pay that type of player? Hope you luck into drafting the best pf of all time again?

I agree Leonard is a player I'd want my team to have. Along with Tony Allen I think he's the best defender in the league, and that isn't anything to take for granted. If you add Leonard to the Thunder, Cavaliers, Clippers or any team like that then I think their chances go way up of winning it. I just think the hype he got after the finals was way over what he actually is. I don't have a specific team I root for since Jordan but I'd like to have Kawhi Leonard as a third option on my team if I did. But nothing more than that.

He's also showed he's very injury prone. I doubt he plays 82 games very often.
