Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015)
As a bunch of people in the reddit thread pointed out: that plot sounds so good that it probably can't be true. It feeds off a bunch of early rumors and uses the trailer and leaked concept art as "proof" that it's true, while it could have easily been written based off of those things. It also sounds like a lot for a 2-hour movie.

You don't think it sounds super JJ Abrams to have Sydow...Simple Torture wrote:As a bunch of people in the reddit thread pointed out: that plot sounds so good that it probably can't be true. It's not that I think it sounds un-Abrams like--I haven't seen the Star Wars movies, so Lost is my only touchstone, which he wasn't involved in much besides the creation/pilot--but it sounds super-fanficish for...McParadigm wrote:You don't think it sounds super JJ Abrams to have Sydow...Simple Torture wrote:As a bunch of people in the reddit thread pointed out: that plot sounds so good that it probably can't be true. Even if this "leak" turns out to be mostly fake I am liking the bits and pieces I've seen so far.

If the Emperor can do the Force ghost thing, perhaps he can be put back in a body..of a clone or willing acolyte..

That's been done to death in the EU; I hope they don't pick it up.dimejinky99 wrote:If the Emperor can do the Force ghost thing, perhaps he can be put back in a body..of a clone or willing acolyte..

I'm a lifelong SW fan and i've never set foot in the EU. It's never held any interest for me for exactly these sorts of reasons.

The EU is out now though, right? Didn't they officially say none of that was cannon and none of it was being looked at for this new trilogy?Simple Torture wrote:That's been done to death in the EU; I hope they don't pick it up.dimejinky99 wrote:If the Emperor can do the Force ghost thing, perhaps he can be put back in a body..of a clone or willing acolyte..

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015)
Yeah, they did, but there were so many clones--Palpatine x100, Luuke Skywalker--that using it in the new films would just seem lazy.durdencommatyler wrote:The EU is out now though, right? Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015)
I wouldn't write it off totally. A lot of it seems like the real thing and some educated guesswork making up the rest. That all does seem like a lot for one movie, but there's definitely elements there that are likely.
Today it emerged Serkis' character will be good on the face of it but pulling strings and actually has a sinister motivation. I'll try find the link for that.
