The entire movie was miscast. Except Ariana DeBose, I supposeVinylGuy wrote:West Side Story.
I was able to watch maybe an hour. It felt old. I thought Spielberg was going to be more playful. The lead actor was a miscast.
Really boring.
Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.
The guy playing Riff is so fucking spot on I can't even stand it. It's one of the most perfect and authentic castings I've ever seen. The Argonaut wrote:The entire movie was miscast. Except Ariana DeBose, I supposeVinylGuy wrote:West Side Story.

It was a really solid movie.Farmer John wrote:I loved Nocturnal Animals!

I really want to watch this one again. Loved it so hard.Farmer John wrote:I loved Nocturnal Animals!
I have tried to watch it again and have this far been unable to bring myself to do it. Not because I don't like (I loved it) but because it fucks me up and I'm scared of that feelinglennytheweedwhacker wrote:I really want to watch this one again. I thought Nocturnal Animals was excellent but I have little desire to rewatch it. Very dark filmThe Argonaut wrote:I have tried to watch it again and have this far been unable to bring myself to do it. I thought Leto was excellent in a Nicholas Cage sort of way. He was the most captivating presence on screen by far. I think the problem with this movie, and with Leto's performance in it, is that it's actually two movies: one is a campy, Wolf of Wall Street story about global wealth and finance, and the other is a more personal rise and fall narrative. Jared Leto is in the former, Adam Driver is in the latter.Farmer John wrote:House of Gucci wasn't quite the train wreck I was expecting, but still not good. I found it a somewhat enjoyable comedic romp.
Jared Leto was as advertised and should rightfully be mocked for his performance. And the only award Lady Gaga should get for this is an award for trying too hard.
