I haven't watched it in full yet, but it's remarkable how the public perception of this movie is shifting after the new cut came out. It's a pretty abrupt and extreme change of tune, like suddenly everyone remembered their mom's name is Martha.

I noticed some early indications when the movie was still in theaters that some reviewers who hated the film changed their minds after watching it a second time. Once you let go of your expectations of what the movie should be and how the characters should act its easier to digest. Maybe some plot points that confused people make more sense on a second view.

The whole nonsense with Batman not killing him and changing his mind just cos Martha is still utterly ridiculous.

Coulda used more of that JJ Abrams "just happens to" brand of storytelling, right?

I wouldn't mind watching the extended edition if the movie finally makes sense.

I'm curious to know how many people honestly believe Bats stopped himself from killing Supes because his mom's name was Martha. I get that it makes for good jokes, but I can't imagine that many people seriously missing the point of the scene so badly.
