I thought that too, but changed my mind when she called him out on knowing her mother.

Since the first part is phonetic, shouldn’t it be OB1?

For sure the second time he's talking about Padme. No question.
But in that first moment in the second episode, it could be either of them. Or both. And it's Satine in my head canon.

It's just shorthanded it because I was on my phone and I didn't want to type out the full name. I think previously I used OWK. Or maybe OBK?
I don't know that anyone actually calls him any of those things. I think most people I've heard shorten it to Obi.

Oh man, I just saw a breakdown that pointed out the decor in the Fortress Inquisitorious. You can see it when Reva walks in. Lining the sides of the room are these long, red shelves. The image is a mirror of the long red widows of Fortress Vader on Mustifar. But if you look at the shelves, they are lined with lightsabers and youngling helmets.
That's fucked up.

My favorite part of ep 3 is when Darth Vader tracked Obi-wan to a mining planet after years of looking for him, and then some waist-high flames bound to die down soon came between them, and he just saw it as insurmountable and immediately fucked off, and one of the characters literally said, “We’ll never find him now.”

That’s straight from Fallen Order, isn’t it?

He should’ve killed him when he had the chance

Flames he put out with the force a second ago.
Maybe they'll explain this, but I'm guessing the writers couldn't figure out how OB1 gets away, and muffed it.

I Asked myself the same question when I first watched it. I honestly felt Vader/Anakin pitied Obi-Wan in that moment.
Just more in regards of how Weak he had become and how easy it was to defeat him.
I could be wrong.

Yeah, team this was clearly intentional. As we already discussed (does anyone read replies in this forum?), Vader clearly let him get away. The fire didn't stop him.
The question is why. I think the two most probable answers (again) are that A) it was a moment of "there's still good in him" coming out, or B) Vader's playing with his food.
Both make sense to me. Maybe it's a combination of the two.
Remember in the comics Vader is so bored that he hires Tarkin to literally hunt him! Vader's been looking for a worthy foe for a long time. And he wants to torture Kenobi. It was all too easy.

I posed that, and I hope it's true, but I'm not convinced.
I hope I'm wrong, but even if I'm not, I'm still enjoying the series.

Maybe they’re still working out kinks in the Vader suit, and it inconveniently powered down in that moment. They chose not to show us the part where the Stormtroopers jumpstart him off a TIE fighter, because Kenobi had already split.

The gang from Count’s Kustoms will be troubleshooting things in next week’s episode. A History Channel crossover event.

I need to go watch this again...it wouldn't make much sense to just toy with Obi Wan; Vader's mission was to hunt and kill Jedi, including younglings, so this does feel like a bit of a miss. They should have made Obi Wan's escape more like a bit of luck like when Luke escaped Vader in ESB.

It makes a lot of sense to me. He wants to toy with him. He wants to torture him. And there's a lot of continuity in the comics where Vader does this exact thing. He wants the hunt because he feels useless. There's also the real hubris of just letting him go (hubris is another major theme, as we know, among Jedi/Force users in canon). He knows he can catch him again. I think it'll be cool if that hubris ends up being the reason he doesn't get Kenobi and Kenobi ends up "winning" and finishing this mission. Pretty cool set up for ANH.

That's what happens when you turn a movie into a 6 episode tv show
