I think it can afford to be faster, this one.
But I'm baffled that they can't just play a song at the right tempo. What's Matt on?

Yes. Pearl Jam invented a new kind of music. It is a fusion of punk and metal and it's pronounced "mim".
No, I knew about that. I was wondering if there was something else. Lotsa pages here, friend.
Try not to get lippy with me, pal.
I would never get lippy with you, Ruddo. Chud though...
Sometimes you're mean to Ruddo. Ruining his frisbees in Europe joke, and all.
Right?!

You can tell when Ed gets pumped up to sing a song... Gotta be a rush to sing a new one finally. Especially for the first time.

He's definitely got some "eyeball anger" in that performance. Good to see him excited.

One of my favourite things about young Ed was that eyeball anger.

Again, why is pearl jam have to be angry to be considered good?
Your parents didn't love you enough? Wtf?

Nobody said that.
Also, its not the anger, its the passion....

I don't think people necessarily respond to anger, but to passion.

Not buying that argument at all.
I've seen ed break down several time during standards like black given to fly and betterman.
This 'passion' argument does not appear at any of those times. In fact he's often accused of working the crowd. Passion me arse.

Well, I can't speak for anybody else, but one of my favorite ever PJ performances is the TB2K version of "Betterman"-- I believe it's from one of the Seattle shows-- where Ed goes into the "it takes my strength, it takes all my strength and I know" part during the extended outro. It's not an angry performance at all, but damn if it isn't one of the most wonderfully passionate things I've seen the band play. And it's from a standard concert staple that's been done to death.

That version gets regular play at the Strat household....
Very touching and sad....

For all the endless bitching knit picking and dissection of Pj that goes on, you guys really are easily rolled over.
Maybe it was a passionate performance I don't doubt it was. Just funny how heads here can be so easily turned.

This song was getting a hard to fair time up til yesterday.
Now it's not.
Guess it proves at least that we still love they can bring it live. Last nights show thread proved that at least. There were more people wishing it would a trainwreck than there were those hoping it would rock is my point.
