I think it's funny that he had one of the best performances of the year (that one) and also one of the worst (Spider-Man)

i didn't care for his performance in that movie.. his accent felt off to me several times and i'm not sure he knew what tone to go for some times

Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

It is the point, yeah. It's a movie about projections of masculinity and the fact that Cumberbatch's tough-guy affectations don't quite ring true is one of the reasons why I think he's so well cast in it

I don't usually like the guy, especially when he's playing Americans, but I think he does a great job in this one

yeah that makes sense.. i still think his performance could have been better.. i couldn't stop thinking of daniel day lewis for some reason which didn't help
