I am all for recommending social distancing (and stronger quarantine measures for those confirmed to still be infectious) however this kind of petty authoritarianism is both insanely stupid and darkly foreboding:
Hopefully many of these fines end up being successfully challenged in court but what an enormous waste of time and resources due to poor judgement by over-zealous police officers.

It’s rare you’ll meet a cop that doesn’t go way way over the line with the powers given them. This is true universally.
