I saw someone point out that the ship we see flying into that -- what looks to me like a -- city built into a mountain looks an awful lot like "Rey's Parent's Ship" -- the ship she watches fly away as a child in the Forceback sequence -- that we see in TFA.
Interesting...

That is interesting. Thank you for pointing it out. Wonder if we'll get some more answers here.

No one is nobodies. Everyone is someone. She deserves a proper answer to where she came from.

I'm kinda wanting an obvious plot in this one. She loses everything in the beginning and then she goes to where she comes from and finds inspiration to rise up and win.. or come close.. I'm feeling a Rocky vibe

Personally I hated how it was treated in TLJ. Doesn't matter if I'm in the minority. That part of it is ok, if it's changed in IX. But if stays without any more answers, it's a bad solution.

Because she's special and her parents should also be special

Or she could at least find out her parents loved her and didn't want to lose her... that would be moving

It's how the SW universe works, though.

well, it's true.
Who goes to see SW to be reminded of real life. It has the lived in real look to it, but I don't want them to discuss getting their taxes done before the deadline, or figuring out what TV show to watch on a Friday night. Or use the bathroom.
