I know we're like 10 pages past this topic, but OTE sucks and SBM is a very pretty song. I will be annoyed if OTE is on this album.

Seconded. Vitalogy is my favourite by PJ followed by Ten. Realistically though, if influence and impact are taken into account, Ten would rank higher. But it all depends on what 'best' implies.Lament wrote:I think Vitalogy holds a much stronger place in the discussion of the best album of the 90's than No Code does. It's my personal second favorite album of the 90's, and I could see critically putting it in the top ten for the decade as well.harmless wrote:My favourite PJ album (Vitalogy or No Code, depending on the day) is the best album of the 90s just by virtue of being by PJ.Lament wrote:True, but I have no problem whatsoever with it being in the discussion on some level. I think OTE had the makings of a good song, even if it wasn't one in its present form. There's no way it'll be exactly the same if it's on there.

Look at the elements separately - and they are just a bunch of polaroids, nothing special, eh

Habit rules. From 2:50 onwards is just pure f*cking Pearl Jam:theplatypus wrote:"Habit" is a fantastic song that belongs in No Code. No Code is by far my favorite Pearl Jam album. It's not the best album of the 90s.

I admit that it's not as good as Infallibottle but because I imagined it in my head with a British accent: Infallibott-le.

"I'll be swinging upside down, and there I will sway." PENDULUM. Worst band ever, but hopefully a good song.

Re: Lightning Bolt -- guess the tracks!
If I had to put together a group of records that greatly impacted/altered the aesthetic of 90's music, Ten would absolutely be the Pearl Jam album I'd put on it (and would be very near the top, especially if you're talking about just rock). Vitalogy would be part of a group of records that I consider to be outstanding artistic accomplishments on their own merits, regardless of impact/influence/etc.Release_Me wrote:Seconded. Just out of interest, how does MYM rank for you now? 4* or lower?stip wrote:I prefer MYM to sometimes, smile, off he goes, habit (although the best parts of habit are better than the best parts of MYM), lukin, mankind, I'm open, and around the bend.durdencommatyler wrote:Half? ...
