I think you’re taking his “turn” too broadly. The Trump stuff was definitely him, and perfectly in line with the way he thinks. But the more specific talking points (factory jobs, for example) always struck me as coming from somewhere outside him, like they were being fed to him by someone. And that shit all started coming out right after he hooked up with Owens.

I suppose that’s possible, I’m sure you know the timeline and stuff like that a lot better than I do. I hope he really is turning the page on this political stuff because whatever its causes it hasn’t suited him well. That said, I don’t think “I was being used” is a particularly compelling defense, but hey.
