As amazing as nels cline is, i really loved it when Tweedy was the main guitarist.

I hate to mock Nels Cline but he is so not suited to the type of Wilco I like. Tweedy is not on top of his game, though he knocks some gems out there on occasion. No chance. Its almost like saying You liked pearl jam better when boom joined the band
Nels has contributed a lot to Wilco that I like -- his playing on "Either Way," "Impossible Germany," "Deeper Down," "Bull Black Nova," and "Art of Almost," not to mention almost all of his playing on the "Kicking Television" album, is vital, integral stuff -- every bit as creatively at home as Bennett's best work. Those moments can be somewhat transient, so sometimes it feels like he's more of a high-profile recurring guest than an equal creative collaborator, but saying he doesn't fit feels wrong to me -- if anything Tweedy doesn't give him enough to do.Kevin Davis wrote:I think Wilco have exactly two great albums: "YHF" and "Ghost," one with Bennett, one without. I will get on board with this. One thing i might add though is that he seems out of place with what Tweedy writes these days. Schimlco - Nels is basically non existent and that was him - trying to not overplay.
