Taree is a great b-side.

just avoid it. it fucks with your head if you ever respected the band before.
Completely disagree. King Animal is great.
 Chris's voice is showing its age at times, but the whole band is on fire for like 3/4 of the album, and even the throwaway tracks get my respect for their continuing to try something new and interesting. There's nothing tired about the album.
Exactly. And the amazing thing is it sounds like a natural progression from DOTU.
If this were the natural succesor to DOTU, I would love it. It's not.
What don't you like about it, Dev? Or how do you wish it was different?
I can't even begin to think how to answer this.

King Animal felt safe to me. Like they were just taking the band around the block for a spin again. I was really looking forward to the next.

Taree is amazing though

I listen to KA more than any other SG album. I could happily play the first eight tracks on loop. The last five aren't nearly as strong, IMO, but I like the first eight so much that I don't really care if the rest are weaker.

Badmotorfinger through Down on the Upside is absurdly amazing.

I like King Animal. Taree and Bones of Birds are superb.

I've always considered Superunknown my favorite but I think I'm starting to lean toward DOTU.

These days I think Louder Than Love is probably my favorite. But I'm not a big SG fan so

Hunted Down
Black Hole Sun
Jesus Christ Pose

(Probably different if you ask me tomorrow.)

I think the over-saturation of Black Hole Sun prevents it from cracking the top 10 for me

I honestly think I'd have to do a top-30...minimum.

But currently, off the top of my head right now, in random order:

Incessant Mace
I Awake
JCP
Fresh Tendrils
Limo Wreck
Mind Riot
Zero Chance
Tighter and Tighter
Entering
Rowing

Yes, I had the same thought when it came out -- it was like they never even broke up!
I said the same thing, it really did feel like it was supposed to be the next album...just many, many years later.

Been Away Too Long was the one track that felt like it almost didn't belong on the album. It sounded like something off of Carry On.. but better....

Guys, found an old cassette which I got in a trade back in 1999. It's an FM broadcast from Sept 15, 1999 of Chris Cornell containing an interview at SFX Radio Network and then a session recorded with Eleven at Electric Lady Studios, NYC in front of an audience (Can't Change Me, Seasons, Sweet Euphoria, Preaching the End of the World).

It's not good quality but I can't see a record of this show anywhere online, so is it worth a transfer and upload? I'll only transfer if it's not been heard before as I don't want to put crap out there unnecessarily.
