Paul is blocking the ratification of a treaty re:Montenegro joining NATO, which is 100% a gift to Russia intentional or otherwise.

Yes, but both Pappy Paul and dashing young Rand have been against NATO expansion for years (since W. was in office). To do what McCain did and tie Paul's stance to Trump's apparent capitulation to Russia in Eastern Europe is disingenuous at best, Maddowesque at worst.

This wall is the stupidest idea in the entire history of the United States government.

So I've been digesting a lot of info over the last week or so. Started with the Ruby Ridge doc on PBS, did a lot of background reading on the inception and evolution of the various factions of the white supremacy movement in Idaho, Washington, Montana. Got into David Koresh. Learned about Geert Wilders. Here's where I'm at; apologies if this is blatantly obvious to the rest of you:

1. The western world will work together to establish anti-Muslim immigration laws and tight border controls. This will coalesce into a "Let the Middle East kill each other sorting out their own problems" approach to policy, though I have no idea what the net result will be.

2. Trump's Wall and related laws will serve to allow Mexicans in to the US, get them documented, and ensure that they can pay taxes on their minimum wage, without receiving any great gov't-subsidized healthcare.

Taken together, we're looking at a (further) capitalist embrace of cheap Mexican labor, and a rejection of those immigrants who have a connection to the Muslim faith.

Not sure where Russia falls into all this yet.

Considering how many imminent domain cases it would have to cover...no. As soon as the first Texas resident is told they have to give up their real property for this with little to no compensation...AND have this eyesore in their backyard, no.
