Everybody plays with a bit more reckless abandon than usual on this record. mind your manners has a great kitchen sink solo, and the first solo in lightning bolt is a great classicist moment. but the solos on ligjtning bolt overall disappoint. Sorry, the point of the question/statement is that I think the production choices underscored the need to sound like Pearl Jam so much that much of this LB album feels like Pearl Jam copying themselves rather than playing free and exploring extra space in their sound. Like they were covering themselves (I.e. Every time I see Unthought Known on a setlist, I just wish it was Lightning Bolt instead.
