I'm shocked at how many awards EE(SLROUR got. It felt like such a niche movie. Imagine your grandma watching it. Or even some of your moms.

I like the Oscars. They don't have to be similar to my personal taste, for that to be true, but in general, when watching many movies from one year in a short time (90+ from each of 2013 and 2014 now recently, out of 150+ I have ever watched from those years), I think the Oscars are a decent representation of the best movies of that year. Some great movies do get overlooked (not nominated at all), but that's not surprising.
