Live-action roleplaying. Basically dorks. But they're having a helluva time. I respect it.

You could be a real role model to kids who participate.

The KC Ren Fest was bananas back in the day because of the absolute strict dedication to staying in character, no matter what. I hated it. But the rest of the experience was fun.

The NYC one the other week was rad. Way more tongue in cheek and inclusive. Only one dude that I encountered wouldn't break character (someone mentioned driving in from somewhere and the dude was like, "What is this DRIVING you speak of?!!" Everyone else was chill and happy to meet everyone where they were). It's all very inclusive and fun. People can just be themselves or be someone totally different if that's what makes them happy. Whatever. The food was good. The hats were awesome. It was a good time.

As a life-long, homegrown, studied and trained, theater kid, I'll say that there are times that I even feel out of place. Because the people that love it, really LOVE it and it really is it's own thing. But that's what makes it awesome.

I hate when the Amazon truck is right outside my neighborhood with 10 more stops before it gets to me.

I hate that Amazon offers 2-hour delivery if you live within two hours of one of their warehouses and I live 50 or so minutes from one yet am not eligible for the 2-hour shipping.

Do you live on the wrong side of the tracks?

Amazon said I had a package in the locker, so I trekked over there but there wasn't one. I saw it in front of my front door on the way back.
