These guys get into a room (at least this go around) and come up with stuff that sounds good to their collective ears.
As Ed has said, it’s important to the band as a whole to make sure each guy gets his color of paint on their work.

Please calm down. This isn't the Pit.
-it was decided a long time ago that Ed gets ultimate say in anything that gets released
-Matt believed, it was led to believe, that Wotman/Ghanea wouldn’t do him dirty, OR they assumed that maybe Josh would mix it
-Jeff at one point said he thought they still had work to do, then suddenly the album was done…
-Which makes me think Ed gave Wotman the green light to do whatever, then Ed loved what he heard because he’s going deaf, and by that point it was too late for Matt or anyone else to make a fuss

a) Dark Matter the song has hallmarks of a certain style of production that you don't like, but you are going way the hell off on how unlistenable it is. You don't like it. Fine. You do you.tragabigzanda wrote:And hey maybe I’m wrong — maybe they all love how it sounds! Some of you seem to so whatever. Still sounds like pure dogshit to me.
That's what I was going to say. I think Jeff was saying that months before Ed said at one of the shows last fall that the record was done.scrub12 wrote:A simple search shows Jeff said that about the album back in June 2023. So more than a few months ago.
