Bring on Alford Pleas, please.
Ed was pretty adamant about his love of the song. He said something along the lines of it being the type of song that makes you want to get in a car with all of your friends so you can drive around blasting it because you're so proud of it.
Sean Penn: Yeah Ed, this sounds pretty cool.
Ed: Just wait for the chorus!
Stereo: 'LIIIGHNEEAAA BOOOAAALRRTLT'
An awkward silence emerges.

Actually, I felt that that sounded like totally insincere invented excitement. But it might just be me.
I haven't gone back and listened to any of the recordings of it, so maybe it was. When he said it though, I'll admit I got pretty excited (and stayed that way until they got to the chorus).

When did he say that?
At Wrigley. I'm just not happy with the track and want another.
Some of these titles have the quality of sounding, um, "kickass". They haven't had that in a while.

But it has text all over it. And the image encompasses the whole album, not just the song.

DON PENDLETON
ONE OF THE BEST THINGS ABOUT BEING IN A BAND IS COLLABORATING WITH EACH OTHER...
SOMETIMES WE GO OUTSIDE THE CIRCLE AND WORK/PLAY WITH OTHER ARTISTS.
DON PENDLETON HAS BEEN ONE OF MY FAVORITE VISUAL ARTISTS OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS AND WE'RE HONORED TO WORK WITH HIM ON LIGHTNING BOLT. HE KILLED IT.
THANKS. JERKS.
