I quite liked his take on Better Days recently and I still think Light Years is one of his best vocal performances ever. Sometimes I watch live performances on youtube (slow lukin and close your eyes spring to mind) and wonder why he doesn't sing in a more natural, unfussy register more often on albums (Backspacer was all over the place) but on most of the new tracks his delivery is fantastically unforced, with Yellow Moon being a stand out.

Where would one, if they were looking, to get good mp3's from Lb? All I've been doing is listening to the stream but I'm sure that will go away soon. This isn't a leak so I assume it's ok. If not, I'll drop and do 20 push ups. Sound cool?

Oh boy. I remember discussing previously that Sirens sounded like one of those terrible songs you'd hear on an episode of Grey's Anatomy and now I see this. Of course they were going to use at least one of the two worst songs on this album being either FD or Sirens on this show! This is hilarious. So bad!

I actually tried to buy this today.
Neither of the CD stores in the Adelaide CBD had it.
Oh well.

So good.
Let's hope one day they do a whole album with that approach.

the lossless sources sound great
enjoying the production so far. loving that Jeff is higher in the mix in a decent chunk of the songs.

Your ass must be glued to Grey's Anatomy every week otherwise you wouldn't know the kind of songs you'd hear on their episodes. So they must be doing something right if you keep coming back to watch.

I'd like that
That would be great. The album getting progressively louder and more raucous would be an interesting take on traditional album "flow".

If my ass is glued to Grey's Anatomy how could I possibly watch it?

Nice little harmonics to transition into the 2nd verse.
The dddddddrown part is kinda dumb.
I thought he was saying 'to be drowned'...
Loving how lush the lossless version of Swallowed Whole sounds.
I think this song is a great example of Matt playing exactly what is required

Nup - I just checked, it's a record-skipping vocal effect. I wonder who's to blame for that

when backspacer came out, the jb hifi in hobart didn't have it so i had to go back later in the day. i was kind of surprised they not only had lightning bolt at 12 this afternoon, but also a sign out the front saying they had it and a few display racks up. sounding delicsh on the home stereo.

The girl told me they were expecting it today but nothing arrived.
Bummer.
